The Netherlands has almost 2 million companies, of which more than three-quarters is a one-man business. 10.2% of the number of companies has 3-20 employees. At the same time, the number of listed companies has been declining since the 1990s. SMEs are the growth engine of the Dutch economy, they provide 70% of employment and are responsible for 60% of economic activity, and this is the way companies should emerge for the future.
